What it is

In 2026 more than 70,000 people came to Loulé over the three parade days. Entry to the parade area is paid, at low prices.

Exact dates and the theme are announced by Loulé Town Council early in the year.

Tips for your visit

  • Bring confetti and, ideally, a costume — it’s part of the fun.
  • The parade starts in the afternoon; arrive early to get a spot by the barriers.
  • Carnival Tuesday is a day off for many in Portugal — expect bigger crowds.
