What it is
It is by far the biggest sporting event of the year in the region: expect a packed town, accommodation sold out months ahead and heavy traffic on the A22 and the roads to the circuit near Mexilhoeira Grande.
Tickets have been on sale on the official event website since 21 September 2026, released in phases (three-day general admission, grandstands and hospitality).
Tips for your visit
- Book accommodation as early as possible — Portimão, Lagoa, Alvor and Lagos are the most practical bases.
- Arrive early: access queues start at dawn on race days.
- Bring a hat, sunscreen and water; in June the grandstands get a lot of sun.
