MED turns the streets, squares and walls of Loulé’s old town into world music stages, with artists from dozens of countries. It’s one of the Algarve’s festivals with the most character.

What it is
Besides the concerts there is food, crafts, exhibitions and street entertainment, all within the old quarter near the castle and the market.
It usually takes place over four days in the last week of June.
Tips for your visit
- Park outside the centre and walk in: surrounding streets are closed to traffic.
- Wear comfortable shoes — the site has cobbles and slopes.
- Combine it with Loulé’s Saturday morning market.
